Ryan FitzpatrickJohn Bazemore/associated Press
although there isn't any dependable (public) database of ratings, and the effects are not meant to live overtly disbursed, the biggest outliers at everyone times seem to collect leaked.
some of the decent extremes was Ryan Fitzpatrick's forty eight in 2005, as he finished the examine in a list 9 minutes, in accordance with Harvard magazine. For greater or worse, that score has adopted Fitzpatrick his entire career. He even made a cameo in an episode of the FXX comedy The League, through which the main characters everyone took the WPT to "show" who became the neatest within the community.
on the opposite End of the spectrum, Vince younger and open Gore every reportedly scored a six out of fifty. earlier than the 2000s, one of the crucial infamously low scores was Dan Marino's 15 in 1983.
here's the aspect, though: Fitzpatrick has been in the league for more than a decade, however he'll not ever live in the seasoned football hall of fame. Conversely, Marino is viewed as one of the game's top-rated quarterbacks, and Gore is in the excellent 5 in profession dashing yards with 14,026.
So, what exactly does the verify prove? If a guy with some of the highest viable scores ended up being a regular NFL quarterback while some historically low scorers are now viewed among the many most suitable in the business, what's the element?
Frank Gore validated poorly on the Wonderlic, however did not quit him from becoming one of the vital premiere operating backs ever.Michael Conroy/linked Press
"If an individual does not finish smartly, does it imply they are always going to fail? No. but it surely is a key component to believe within the plenary evaluation of the grownup," Wonderlic spoke of.
Likewise, a rating within the 30s or 40s would not assure on-box success. youngsters, a stronger rating suggests a participant should contain an easier time studying playbooks and straight away determining in video games what the opposing group is trying to finish with its schemes.
within the corporate world, where one's max bench or extensive jump doesn't insinuate a darn issue, or not it's convenient to peer how this peer at various may provide value in evaluating candidates for a job or advertising.
in the soccer world, even though, it appears to live one more information aspect for teams to correspond with. If two gamers are bodily comparable and one scored 15 features larger than the other on the WPT, most likely the group opts to draft the one who confirmed as a quicker learner. but it's now not like any one has everyone of sudden vaulted from a projected sixth-circular pick on to the again End of the first round as a result of he is wonderful at doing math below pressure.
nonetheless, remember to prefer the check and problem your friends to finish it, too. Bragging rights are at everyone times fun. And given what number of agencies administer the WPT, you just might should prefer one for existent someday. couldn't damage to collect an notion of what to expect.
All fees bought firsthand, unless in any other case referred to.

As Charles Wonderlic drove from the NFL Scouting combine in Indianapolis to his enterprise’s headquarters near Chicago on February 27, 2011, he made the mistake of turning on a sports radio display. The host, as Wonderlic remembers, was speaking about Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy’s close-best Wonderlic ranking. every winter, tons of of football prospects prefer the numerous-alternative test that claims to measure their intelligence. results are speculated to live kept personal, yet they always seem to revolve into media fodder.
truly, there’s no mode any individual might’ve regularly occurring McElroy’s score. On that day four years ago, as reviews of McElroy’s suppositious achievement trickled out, sealed containers containing each Wonderlic reply sheet were sitting in Charles Wonderlic’s vehicle, still unscanned. Wonderlic, Inc. didn’t dispatch an encrypted file of the avid gamers’ outcomes to the NFL unless March 1. Unsurprisingly, lots of news shops ran with the memoir anyway.1 The months leading as much as the NFL Draft consider like election season: everyone’s trying to dig up grime on candidates.
“Are they simply so starved for suggestions this time of year that they search for anything else?” wondered NFL Scouting combine director Jeff Foster, who best agreed to live interviewed for this article after I guaranteed him that I wouldn’t live reporting particular person Wonderlic scores.
In an era when the NFL agenda unlock is treated like the top-quality of the modern “star Wars,” the reply to Foster’s query is a resounding “sure.” They crave even the smallest bits of counsel about avid gamers entering the NFL Draft, even though it’s no longer intended for their consumption. overlook Foster’s estimate that half the Wonderlic ratings he sees in news stories are wrong. as long as the peer at various is hasten on the mix, media and lovers will fixate on it.
“The best adult it affects is the player,” Foster spoke of of a leaked Wonderlic ranking. “How would you want to live branded unintelligent because you scored a 5 on an intelligence verify?”
The memoir of the Wonderlic, besides the fact that children, is more than just a variety of with no inconvenience regurgitated numbers. It’s the memoir of how one man’s American Dream helped shape a modern American pastime.
but earlier than they collect there, let’s first peer at what the Wonderlic purportedly exams. “What we’re measuring isn't what you comprehend — that’s what’s being measured on the ACT or the SAT,” referred to Charles Wonderlic, president and CEO of Wonderlic Inc. “here's actually saying, ‘How without delay does your mind collect and resolve counsel?’” The 12-minute Wonderlic Personnel examine (WPT) elements 50 questions arranged by problem, lowest to highest. birthright here’s a pattern:
Jose’s monthly parking payment for April was $150; for may furthermore it was $10 more than April; and for June $40 greater than can also. His commonplace month-to-month parking expense was ___ for these 3 months?
J) $sixty six
k) $one hundred sixty
M) $a hundred and seventy
A player’s Wonderlic rating is always a bunch between 1 and 50, and throughout everyone professions, the middling rating is approximately 21. (techniques analysts and Chemists correct the size 32 at 31, respectively.) for professional soccer avid gamers, the oft-referred to number is set 20. tracking down the typical scores by course of residence is difficult, mainly since the buttoned-up NFL isn’t interested in sharing any extensive Wonderlic information. In an electronic mail, Charles Wonderlic observed that while his company has posted “norms” for different industries, “we back the confidentiality of examine rankings for lone corporations. since the NFL is the handiest customer during which they can bow a quarterback commonplace, they would requisite their permission to provide this information. historically, the NFL prefers to hold any information about assessments ratings interior to their personal organization.”
Like Wonderlic, Inc., the NFL declined to deliver any historical records regarding NFL avid gamers’ test scores for this piece.
For his 19843 traditional “the brand modern pondering Man’s sheperd to seasoned soccer,” activities Illustrated writer Paul “Dr. Z” Zimmerman did collect one nameless staffer to spill some then-existing averages. loathsome tackles led the manner at 26, then got here facilities (25), quarterbacks (24), loathsome guards (23), taut ends (22), safeties and middle linebackers (21), shielding linemen and outside linebackers (19), cornerbacks (18), broad receivers and fullbacks (17), and halfbacks (16). And what about vicinity kickers and punters? “Who cares?” the source referred to.
by itself, a superior Wonderlic ranking capability little. like a forty-yard sprint time, it provides one tiny, standardized statistics factor to employers who presumably prefer a holistic strategy to hiring. however because groups contain decades of data on file, they could evaluate the Wonderlic scores of existing college avid gamers coming into the draft to those of previous prospects. “They effortlessly consume it to locate the extremes,” Foster spoke of. a really low rating or a very immoderate ranking, he delivered, may lead groups to deportment extra checking out or seem into the prospect extra carefully.
“Wonderlic offers you a local to examine,” the late long island Giants established manager George immature advised the Philadelphia day by day information in 1997. “If a man doesn’t contain a very wonderful rating on the check, you don’t relate he’s now not smart. however you fade in and investigate and ascertain [why he scored low]. You fade in and consult with his educate. You learn the course he did in faculty. You learn the course he retains. if you believe he’s a terrible reader and did poorly because it was a verbal test, you provide him a non-verbal check.”
essentially the most celebrated violent came about in 1975, when Harvard receiver and punter Pat McInally4 reportedly scored a impeccable 50 on the Wonderlic. The Cincinnati Bengals picked him in the fifth round of that yr’s draft, but not before his reputed intelligence reportedly troubled some teams away. In 2011, McInally told the l. a. times that immature informed him that acing the Wonderlic “may additionally contain saturate you a pair of rounds within the draft as a result of they don’t like extremes. They don’t covet them too dumb and they bound as hell don’t want them too smart.”
That a wee bit paleolithic line of pondering, although, wasn’t shared by everybody. “I don’t custody about that stuff,” the late Raiders proprietor Al Davis observed in “the brand modern thinking Man’s book to professional football.” “If a kid is highway smart, that’s enough. Their coaches’ job is to construct a kid smarter. I simply put a question to yourself in the event that they checked one of the coaches’ IQs across the league, how immoderate they’d ranking.”
by course of now, the expense of the Wonderlic has been debated so vigorously, above everyone among NFL executives, that it’s convenient to neglect that the check wasn’t designed for soccer.
What it become designed for become anything extra simple. within the Nineteen Thirties, Eldon “E.F.” Wonderlic — friends referred to as him Al — become working because the director of personnel at buyer loan issuer household Finance traffic enterprise.5 His enterprise was hunting for a more productive approach to hire entry-degree people at its branches, so it despatched Wonderlic to graduate school at Northwestern in hopes that his research would bow an reply to the difficulty.
E.F. Wonderlic mentioned that the one ultimate predictor of job performance turned into previous toil adventure. but as Charles Wonderlic set it: “How finish you are expecting a person’s efficiency if they contain on no account performed that job before?” The 2nd-best predictor of job performance, E.F. Wonderlic reasoned, turned into cognitive capability.
“What he found was that distinctive jobs had diverse cognitive calls for starting from very low to very excessive,” talked about Charles Wonderlic, E.F.’s grandson. “And there were definitely diverse IQs around every job. And the extra away you acquired from that distribution, that’s if you started to adventure problems.”
The fashioned Wonderlic Personnel peer at various became born out of that idea. the primary copyrighted edition of the peer at various looked in 1937. Its brevity and light scoring equipment, Charles Wonderlic referred to, allowed just about any manager to both administer the verify and interpret rankings. (this is additionally the seemingly occasions of synchronous pundits’ treasure of Wonderlic rankings: They’re handy speaking features.)
After a stretch at Douglas plane service provider throughout World battle II, E.F. Wonderlic labored in finance and offered copies of his peer at various. He didn’t advertise, however eventually huge groups like Spiegel and AT&T begun calling. In 1961, E.F. Wonderlic left his job as president of gauge Finance service provider and centered E.F. Wonderlic & associates. through then, Charles Wonderlic pointed out, an estimated 4 million americans a 12 months had been taking the WPT.
within the early Sixties, Gil Brandt changed into a younger scout with the expansion Dallas Cowboys. “We contain been no longer an outstanding group,” he advised me. His bosses, chummy supervisor Tex Schramm and instruct Tom Landry, had been looking for ways to exchange that. After doing some research, Brandt referred to that the trio determined that a hit companies used the Wonderlic and the group should, too. It’s unclear exactly when the Cowboys started trying out avid gamers. Brandt did relate that at some point birthright through the ’60s, he remembers looking at spring drill at Northwestern and then stopping by means of the Wonderlic headquarters to learn more in regards to the enterprise.
through the late ’60s, George younger became an ambitious personnel second for the Baltimore Colts. He’d been a public school trainer earlier than transitioning to soccer plenary time, and he requested the pinnacle of the information department in Baltimore for a handful of distinctive checks to peruse. Of the 10 he reportedly looked at, the Wonderlic caught out, and soon the Colts begun using it.
different groups followed fade well with by course of the Seventies, and the NFL ultimately started to consume it to investigate college avid gamers en masse. when you consider that 2007, Wonderlic, Inc. personnel members contain traveled annually to Indianapolis to manage the verify at the Scouting combine.
but the Wonderlic isn't with out its detractors. Charles Wonderlic estimated that when you consider that the test’s inception essentially 80 years in the past, it has faced criminal scrutiny hundreds of times.
in the summer of 1965, when the Equal Employment opening commission begun operations a year after it turned into dependent by using the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Duke vigour company in Draper, North Carolina, everyone started enabling its black personnel to toil in its higher-paying divisions. except that factor, black personnel had simplest been authorized to toil in the low-paying Labor department. Duke power additionally instituted a policy that required everyone modern applicants6 to contain a elevated college diploma and circulate two aptitude assessments: the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension test and the Wonderlic Personnel peer at various.
These measures crippled the efforts of black laborers to strengthen. at the time, the percentage of white guys who each possessed a elevated faculty diploma and had been able to pass both aptitude assessments turned into significantly higher7 than the percentage of black men who met the same standards.
Griggs v. Duke energy Co., a U.S. Supreme court docket case argued in 1970, condemned the business’s necessities. not handiest did they disproportionately affect black employees, however they additionally didn't exhibit “a demonstrable relationship” to job efficiency, Chief Justice Warren Burger wrote in the majority opinion. He additionally mentioned that nothing within the Civil Rights Act “precludes using testing or measuring techniques; most likely they are constructive.”
whereas the Wonderlic check has proven itself to live a Great instrument for residence of toil evaluation, it has furthermore faced longstanding criticism from those that wrangle that it is racially and culturally biased. It’s uncertain even if the NFL, a league through which more than 67 p.c of gamers are African-American, consents with these accusations or if the league actually makes consume of the Wonderlic to construct personnel decisions.
“How determinative it's is dependent upon the club,” former Giants generic manager Ernie Accorsi advised ESPN.com in 2013, “but it’s always not ‘the’ determinative element.”
When it involves football, is the verify a demonstrably in your expense purview measure of job efficiency? because legit NFL Wonderlic scores aren’t publicly attainable, it’s complicated to grasp for bound, but that hasn’t stopped researchers from looking for out. Brian D. Lyons, Brian J. Hoffman, and John W. Michel8 co-authored a 2009 study examining the reported9 Wonderlic scores of 762 NFL avid gamers from three draft classes. They found that there become wee correlation between Wonderlic scores and on-box performance, aside from two positions: taut ends and protective backs with low scores actually played more advantageous than these with elevated rankings. The researchers surmised that this “can live defined via the thought that performance for these positions entails extra of an emphasis on physical skill and intuition” than regular mental skill.
these days, the NFL continues to put a question to handicap draftees to prefer the Wonderlic, although the verify now has enterprise. In 2013, the league introduced the participant assessment device, which became developed by means of legal professional Cyrus Mehri, whose file led to the implementation of the NFL’s Rooney Rule, and psychology professor Harold Goldstein. Louis Bien of SB Nation these days said that the PAT is a 50-minute examination that examines a participant’s football smarts, psychological attributes, studying trend and motivational cues. “players don't seem to live given a numeric score, unlike on the Wonderlic, so technically there isn't any strategy to finish poorly on it,” Bien wrote.
Mehri’s hope is that the brand modern check can measure what the Wonderlic can’t. “This profile of ranges the enjoying container from a socio-financial component of view,” he informed country nowadays. “lots of guys can live very intelligent, however aren't as booklet-smart as others. a person might furthermore not live the most usurp reader, however they could nonetheless live very judicious in selecting up things.”
so long as the Wonderlic is hasten on the NFL Scouting combine, Foster, the amalgamate director, can live fielding questions about it — and shaking his head at leaked ratings. “It has some price,” he talked about of the peer at various. “It does not contain near the expense of what they expend speakme about it between February and may.”
after all, a immoderate or low rating won’t automatically doom or anoint a prospect. simply put a question to Greg McElroy. After doing chiefly smartly on the Wonderlic in 2011, the manhattan Jets picked the quarterback within the seventh round of the draft. before motto his retirement in 2014, he performed in a complete of two NFL video games.
In 1936, a Northwestern institution graduate student by using the denomination of Eldon F. Wonderlic created and began to manage the primary brief-form cognitive capability examine. The Wonderlic Personnel examine came to live viewed as a brief IQ check, and a professional aid for evaluating someone’s expertise to live triumphant in certain professional roles. The U.S. armed forces used the verify birthright through World warfare II to at once identify personnel applicable for extra cognitively taxing roles. but the peer at various is most commonplace for its affiliation with the NFL.

Most lately, in 2011, it changed into said that former tuition of Alabama national champion quarterback and present ESPN analyst Greg McElroy scored 48. youngsters, days later his precise ranking became uncovered. He scored 43, still very outstanding. alas, that rating wasn’t stunning enough for NFL universal managers. McElroy was chosen in the closing round of the NFL draft by the ny Jets and had a very short NFL profession.
in the early 2000s, three players did collect ratings of 48 in back-to-lower back-to-returned years, rounding out the NFL Wonderlic birthright five.

Watson, now 36, is essentially the most completed of the Wonderlic actual 5. He was drafted in the first circular via the modern England Patriots, where he received a brilliant Bowl. soon-to-be-former Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick scored forty eight on the combine in 2005. if you are even a casual football fan, you likely aren't stunned by means of Fitzpatrick’s immoderate rating, as a result of everyone over his 12-yr profession, broadcasters under no circumstances ignored an opening to show us that Fitz went to Harvard. Fitz has had a fanciful journeyman profession, enjoying for seven teams. He may live on the market for group No. eight when the free agency length opens on March 9.
notwithstanding the Wonderlic has been relied on to measure professional prospects’ cognitive aptitude due to the fact that the ’70s, the league and teams contain been supplementing it with different intellectual evaluation apparatus for years. according to an NFL.com report from Steve Wyche, this year the NFL, partnering with the Fritz Pollard Alliance, an organization that promotes skill development for NFL coaches and front-office workforce, will add a brand modern cognitive exam.

Josh Allen reportedly scored a 37 on the Wonderlic.Associated Press
The NFL scouting combine is primarily dedicated to evaluating physical attributes. Draft prospects are required to hasten as quickly as they can, jump as elevated and as far as they can, bench press 225 pounds as many times as practicable and demonstrate agility in the shuttle and three-cone drills.
But mental acuity is furthermore set to the test with a 50-question, 12-minute exam designed to challenge one's captious thinking skills and the ability to remain wintry under pressure.
This test is known as the Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT), typically referred to as the Wonderlic.
If you've ever been inquisitive how your brain compares to that of your favorite football players, you can prefer an unofficial drill test online at SampleWonderlicTest.com. (This site is not officially affiliated with nor sanctioned by Wonderlic, but the types of questions are similar to the existent deal.)
According to Wonderlic.com, the "short-form cognitive ability test" was created in 1936 by E.F. Wonderlic. Shortly thereafter, the U.S. Navy used it as a means for selecting the best candidates to become pilots and navigation experts during World War II. It has since become the go-to aptitude test for hundreds of companies around the world.
In the website's "about" section, Wonderlic boasts that the assessment has been administered more than 200 million times since its inception.

Wonderlic is most widely known for its relationship with the NFL scouting combine. Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry is often credited with putting a lot of stock into the WPT's results, starting in the 1970s, and structure Great rosters because of it.
Charlie Wonderlic—E.F.'s grandson and the company's CEO—spoke with Bleacher Report about the WPT's purpose.
"The test has evolved over the years, but it still does what it was fundamentally designed to do, which is measuring IQ," said Wonderlic. "The U.S. Department of Labor and their research consistently shows that it is one of the best predictors of success."
Unlike the SAT or the ACT, which can live studied for and measure how well you contain mastered academia, Wonderlic said one can't finish much to study for the WPT. Maybe taking a pair of drill tests would back you collect a feel for how quickly 12 minutes can waft by, but you can't multiply your IQ with a pair of study sessions.
However, if you did the mental gymnastics earlier to motif out that 50 questions in 12 minutes means you contain an middling of less than 15 seconds per question—14.4 to live exact—you'll probably finish OK on this fast-paced assessment of your math, vocabulary and reasoning skills.
In case you don't contain 12 minutes to spare, here are a pair of sample questions to give you a taste of what it's like. Remember, if you want to finish the test, you requisite to live quick. Also, you're not allowed to consume a calculator, but you're welcome to finish the math on a piece of scratch paper.
Q1. Counting from 1 to 100, how many 6s will you encounter?
A. 10B. 11C. 18D. 19E. 20
Q2. LOST is to WOODS as _______ is to SEA?
A. SubmergedB. AdriftC. DrownD. FounderedE. Capsized
Q3. A film plays 6 times on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 9 times on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 10 times on Saturdays and Sundays. Altogether, the film plays _____ times per week?
A. 25B. 41C. 46D. 56E. 65
Q4. From the following two statements, which conclusion is absolutely true?1. not anything of the gardeners are tennis players.2. everyone writers are gardeners.
A. Some gardeners are tennis players.B. Writers are not tennis players.C. Writers are tennis players.D. Some writers are not gardeners.
So, how finish you assume you did?
Did you finish in 57.6 seconds or less? If not, you'll requisite to live even faster on the other 46 questions to beat the clock. And having taken both a sample drill test and an official one—scoring a 42 on each, thank you very much—I can verify that you collect fatigued by the End and will requisite longer to reply the eventual 10 questions than the first 10. Also, seeing the clock ticking down toward zero out of the corner of one's eye doesn't finish much to back with test-taking anxiety.
Correct Answers: E, B, D, B.
Now that you've had a sample, perhaps you can better cherish how challenging the test is. Independently, the questions aren't that difficult, but the time restraint makes it arduous for many people to score higher than a 20.
Ryan FitzpatrickJohn Bazemore/Associated Press
Though there is no official (public) database of scores, and the results aren't meant to live openly distributed, the biggest outliers always seem to collect leaked.
One of the wonderful extremes was Ryan Fitzpatrick's 48 in 2005, as he finished the test in a record nine minutes, according to Harvard Magazine. For better or worse, that score has followed Fitzpatrick his entire career. He even made a cameo in an episode of the FXX comedy The League, in which the main characters everyone took the WPT to "prove" who was the smartest in the group.
At the opposite End of the spectrum, Vince immature and open Gore each reportedly scored a six out of 50. Before the 2000s, one of the most infamously low scores was Dan Marino's 15 in 1983.
Here's the thing, though: Fitzpatrick has been in the league for more than a decade, but he'll never live in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Conversely, Marino is regarded as one of the sport's best quarterbacks, and Gore is in the top five in career rushing yards with 14,026.
So, what exactly does the test prove? If a guy with one of the highest practicable scores ended up being an middling NFL quarterback while some historically low scorers are now regarded among the best in the business, what's the point?
Frank Gore tested poorly on the Wonderlic, but it didn't quit him from becoming one of the best running backs ever.Michael Conroy/Associated Press
"If a person doesn't finish well, does it weigh in they're necessarily going to fail? No. But it is a key factor to consider in the plenary evaluation of the person," Wonderlic said.
Likewise, a score in the 30s or 40s doesn't guarantee on-field success. However, a higher score suggests a player should contain an easier time learning playbooks and quickly figuring out in games what the opposing team is trying to finish with its schemes.
In the corporate world, where one's max bench or broad jump doesn't weigh in a darn thing, it's light to note how this test could provide value in evaluating candidates for a job or promotion.
In the football world, though, it seems to live one more data point for teams to consider. If two players are physically comparable and one scored 15 points higher than the other on the WPT, perhaps the team opts to draft the one who tested as a quicker learner. But it's not like anyone has suddenly vaulted from a projected sixth-round pick to the back End of the first round because he's wonderful at doing math under pressure.
Still, you should prefer the test and challenge your friends to finish it, too. Bragging rights are always fun. And given how many companies administer the WPT, you just might requisite to prefer one for existent one day. Couldn't Hurt to collect an notion of what to expect.

The Combine is a huge partake of the NFL Draft process for prospects, and in addition to position drills and basic athletic testing, prospects are asked to prefer the Wonderlic test. The scores of these tests are suppositious to remain private, but every year some of them collect leaked.
This year, most of the quarterback scores contain been made public by former NFL scout John Middlekauff. He listed off the scores on a recent Fox Sports Radio podcast appearance on "The Herd With Colin Cowherd."
MORE: Notable Wonderlic scores over the years
Here's what he claims are the scores:
Wonderlic scores for 2018 QBs
Josh Allen: 37
Josh Rosen: 29
Sam Darnold: 28
Baker Mayfield: 25
Lamar Jackson: 13
This then brings us to the question...
Are Wonderlic scores captious for NFL players?
The short answer: it depends on who you ask, and what position.
In a column for Sports Illustrated, Edward Krupat, PhD, wrote, that the Wonderlic is "an outdated course of thinking about intelligence when it comes to predicting performance on the football field."
MORE: Optimum Scouting's latest 2018 NFL Mock Draft
An artcile on Medium did some research on quarterback scores and discovered, "There seems to live a sort of smartness threshold, where the best NFL quarterbacks requisite to be at least this smart to note success. But once a QB passes that threshold (around a score of 25), their additional smartness has wee to no result on success on the field."
Even Middlekauff, who released the 2018 scores, says, "everything matters when it comes to quarterbacks." This is partake of why he released some of the scores.
What is the Wonderlic test?
Let's prefer Wikipedia's definition:

The Wonderlic is available in 12 different languages and is often used in college, entry plane jobs, and team-making efforts.
